Guide to Use CBD Flowers
Smoking CBD Flowers
One’s subjective experience of smoking CBD can vary from strain to strain, depending on each person’s metabolism, tolerance, and the endocannabinoid system (ECS).
Smoking high-CBD flowers with some THC will also feel different than dabbing CBD isolated or ingesting CBD oil. It also depends largely on what other cannabinoids and terpenes are in the product you’re smoking. These compounds often work together to produce certain results — a phenomenon known as the entourage effect.
CBD won’t give you the same intoxication as THC, but it can provide a sense of calm and overall relaxation. Some users report that CBD can make them feel sleepy, happy, or even energized, depending on their dosage and route of administration. Low doses of CBD are thought to be stimulating, whereas higher doses (250 mg or more) can be sedating. Others claim that CBD relieves inflammation or pain after smoking.
When you smoke CBD flower, you won’t get high, but you will experience a side of cannabis you never thought existed. Fully non-intoxicating and non-addictive, CBD flower is just the beginning of what the impressively complex Cannabis sativa plant holds in store for our health and well-being.
Vaping CBD Flowers
If you want to vaporize your flowers, you’re going to need a plant material vaporizer. These little devices can be set to a variety of temperatures, for CBD flowers you’ll want to choose around 170°. While your vaporizer is preheating, you can start preparing your flowers. Take the amount of flowers of your choice and chop them up. You can use a knife as well as a manual or electric grinder to get a more precise result. To go faster, you can do this step in one go to create a ready-to-use stock.
Now that your flowers are ready, follow the instructions on your vaporizer to insert them into the chamber. You don’t want to pack them in too tightly or the air won’t be able to circulate. There you go, you can enjoy the benefits of CBD by using your vaporizer and sucking in the vapor it produces!
Making an infusion with CBD Flowers
To infuse CBD flowers, you must first grind them into fine crumbs so that they release its flavors and properties more easily. Then place your crushed flowers in a tea ball, infuser or filter. This is when you can add other ingredients, also in crumbs or powder. You can also drop fruit pieces directly into your cup, jug or teapot. In order for your CBD to be properly assimilated, you need to add a fat to your preparation. You can use your choice of milk, cream or butter.
When you have made your choice, simply heat it up and then let your CBD flowers infuse for 5 to 10 minutes. You’ll get a warm, comforting and indulgent drink to enjoy!
Use CBD Flowers in the Kitchen
As with an infusion, you will need to combine your CBD flowers with a fatty substance. The easiest way is to make pastries by creating CBD-enriched butter beforehand. To do this, you need to powder the CBD flowers, melt your butter and mix the two together. Leave your mixture to infuse over a low heat, the longer you leave it to simmer, the more intense the effects of the CBD will be. Then strain the mixture to recover only the infused butter. You can now place it in the fridge to return to a solid form and later make cakes, biscuits or pies.
Before using CBD flowers in cooking, you should decarboxylate them. This step makes them edible when you intend to cook them in a preparation. To decarboxylate your flowers, you need to dry them in the oven at 120° for at least 30-40 minutes.
Why prefer CBD flowers over CBD oil or vaping liquid?
CBD flowers are a direct product coming from the cannabis plant, so it is unprocessed. No additional substances are needed, neither any extraction process has been performed. Hemp CBD buds are therefore 100 % natural when grown in an organic way.
On the other hand, CBD oils and vaping liquids are always processed and contain other additives. For example, solvents are among these additives, which can potentially become toxic when heated. You do not have to deal with such things when using CBD flowers. Some valuable cannabinoids and terpenes are sometimes destroyed during the production of CBD oil or liquids for vaping.
Since CBD oils and vaporizing liquids contain additives, the actual CBD content can usually be lower than in CBD flowers.
All these arguments explain why CBD flower’s effects appear to be stronger than those from CBD oil or vaporizing fluids. In general, CBD bud’s use is also cheaper in the long run than using high doses of CBD oils or vaporizing fluids to achieve the same effects.
